1. What are the various national-level design tests in India and when are they conducted?
- NID Entrance Exam is conducted by the National Institute of Design (NID). In 2024, the Prelims Exams were held in December and Mains were conducted in April.
- NIFT entrance exam is conducted by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), usually in January/February each year.
- UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design) is conducted by IIT Bombay, usually in January each year.
- NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) is conducted by the Council of Architecture, four times a year. This year (2024), the exams will be held in April, June, July, and September.
- BFA: The Entrance Exams - CUET, JNUEE, SET, IPUCET, etc. are conducted by various institutions. Amongst these, CUET is a national-level test conducted by the National Test Agency (NTA), while the others are college-level exams.

2. What is the fee structure of B. Des. (Bachelor of Design) Programs in NID, NIFT, IIT (UCEED), etc.?
- NID: INR 1,83,500 per semester (Total Fees - INR 16,87,000)
- NIFT: 1st year fee INR 3,26,200 (Total Fees - INR 13,42,400)
- IIT: General - (INR 6,45,000 - INR 10,72,000) | SC/ST - (INR 71,000 to INR 2,70,000)
(IIT Fees vary depending on the branch - Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jabalpur) - For NATA, and BFA, the fees depend on the respective institutions

3. What is the eligibility for national-level design entrance tests such as NID, NIFT, NATA, UCEED, & BFA?
- Most exams require the candidate to have passed Class XII with some requiring atleast 50% aggregate marks.

4. What is the age limit for taking the exams?
- Some tests (Such as NID) have different age limits for General Category and SC/ST/OBC Categories while others have a common age limit. Most exams (for UG programs) require the candidate to be below 24 years of age. Some exams mention a specific date and year, on or before which, the candidate is required to be of a specific age. 5. What are the exam patterns for various national-level design entrance examinations?
1. NID Entrance Examination is conducted in two parts: DAT Prelims & DAT Mains…. (DAT - Design Aptitude Test)
DAT Prelims: Written test intended to assess the candidate’s aptitude, creativity, and analytical skills DAT Mains: Studio test designed to evaluate the candidate’s design and problem-solving ability2. NIFT has three components: CAT, GAT, and Situation Test.
CAT (Creative Ability Test - 3 Hours), GAT (General Ability Test - 2 Hours)3. NATA consists of two parts: Part-A and Part-B.

6. What is the syllabus for the design entrance exams? What are the key subjects to focus on?
- Depending on the exam (NID, NIFT, etc.), the subjects may vary and include some or all of these: Quantitative Ability, English Language, Creative and Drawing Ability, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness.

7. What is the time required to prepare for national-level design entrance tests?
- It depends largely on the candidate’s aptitude, passion, artistic skill level, comprehension skills, and the coaching. However, most candidates take upto 1 year to prepare comprehensively for the design entrance test. Others may take as little 6 months, depending on various factors including the time put in each day for learning and practice.

- National-Level Design Entrance Examinations such as NID, NIFT, NATA, and UCEED are highly competitive in nature and present significant challenges. Coaching can offer valuable assistance when gearing up for the exams. Currently, we are focused only on coaching candidates seeking to enroll for B. Des. and related UG programs in top institutions such as National Institute of Design (NID), National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), IIT (Indian Institute of Technology Design Schools), and various institutions offering UG architecture programs such as IIT, NIT, BIT, and Sir J.J. College of Architecture.
